Landmark sale
You may have seen on our social media channels that earlier in September we exchanged and completed on a beautiful home on the Wentworth Estate which had a guide price of £17 million. As you can imagine these properties are few and far between and so, finding the right buyer for such a property – especially in this time of relative economic uncertainty is not easy.
The Story
Behind every great achievement is usually an interesting story, and this is no different. It started with an enquiry for a rental property. The client was looking for a substantial property to rent and had some fairly specific requirements – the plan was to live in the area for a while whilst renting and maybe look to buy a property at a later date. The criteria included the property being of substantial size and preferably a new build.
The team showed the client a number of magnificent rental properties but nothing was quite hitting the mark and so they added a wildcard property to the viewing list. The property wasn’t listed for rent but did tick all of the boxes on the clients’ requirement list.
The Property
The property is a new home, designed by Ascot Design with interiors finished to the highest specification by Alexander James Interiors. It is a property of substantial size on the main island of the Wentworth Estate sitting on around four acres of land.
The property was initially viewed by the client’s aide who immediately made a call urging a viewing. The client arrived at the property and within a few minutes was in love and had to have it. It met and exceeded all the client’s requirements with features including the bi-fold doors from the swimming pool out onto the garden and the cinema room. There was also plenty of accommodation for the house staff, guests and extended family should they need it.
Thinking outside the box
Completing on a property of this kind of value is always a big win for any estate agent, but the way that some smart thinking by Rupert and Stephen turned a rental enquiry into one of the biggest sales in the area this year, is something to be truly proud of. It showed great awareness and the ability to read the situation in order to provide a service that the client didn’t even know they wanted; our lettings and sales teams worked seamlessly to find a solution and it is a credit to our training and the instincts and experience of the team who got the sale over the line.
